Before taking this course I never really thought about diversity and culture. But after reading articles and the book for this course, I have learned more about diversity and culture. According to the answers that was given, I believe that I would have given the same answers if I was asked prior to this course. Neither one of the people that I interviewed said anything about the small social groups that we are apart of. They just spoke of the basic things that we all think of when it comes to culture and diversity. After doing this interview I am glad that I am taking this course because I am much more educated on the subject of diversity and culture.
Hello Brittany,
ReplyDeleteI am also glad I am taking this course because it sheds a light on how ignorant we are about learning about culture and diversity and even though we experience it everyday, we really don't pay close attention to it or think about it. Personally, I am glad I took this course so that I can understand and help the children and families that come into our programs. Dora Adafom
Hi Brittany,
ReplyDeleteYour answers were short and to the point. I liked the answer to diversity that was given: Diversity is when different cultures come together.
Taking this course has made me a little more comfortable talking about what culture and diversity is all about.
Enjoyed the comments that your contacts made.

I like how your responses involve a lot of family history, family practices, etc. I think we could not only think of culture within/as family/history, but also narrow it down to diversity within a family unit. I find that topic very interesting also.
